Can you hear me squealing with delight over the latest issue of edible Ozarkansas? The featured focus article is all about children in the kitchen and I wrote it!!!
I actually wrote the article a year ago but they saved it for this issue so that families could utilize the tips and tricks over the winter break. I say “families” because I talked about how cooking with children is fun whether you are a parent, an aunt, an uncle, a grandparent, a foster parent, or a even a cousin.
The article takes a trip down memory lane when I was a kid and how the budding love of cooking came to be and how I am now sharing that experience with two of my youngest nieces. Stephen Ironside from Ironside Photography in Fayetteville shot the photos of my nieces and me. Amanda Cothren, edible Ozarkansas’ editor came along to guide the photo shoot along.
It was an awesome experience and especially fun to hear what cute comments that the girls said as the three of us made omelets and rolled out cookies. They were so cute that Amanda recorded our conversation and used it during her interview with Ozark’s At Large on NPR!
The rest of the publication is super-informative and classy. One article about a local maple-tapping farm has me walking outside in the woods to see if I can start tapping my own trees. Another article about a local chocolate bar company had me heading out to Vintage Market in Fayetteville to purchase one for me and one for a reader in an upcoming giveaway. Stay tuned…
Read the entire edible Ozarkansas issue here.
Or, head out to local establishments such as Barnes & Noble, Harps, or 28 Springs and pick up your own (free) hard copy. If you want to make sure you grab a copy before they are gone, go ahead and subscribe. That’s what I do and I think it is worth it.
Happy reading.
Eat well, my friends. Eat well.

Jenny, the edible magazines are so awesome, you won't regret subscribing. They are part of the James Beard edible community (think Victory Garden on PBS, James Bear House in NYC, etc.) and so interesting! I'm going to tell them about your farm!
