Have you ever heard about the mindset “power of positive thinking?” I pretty much live by it. Not in an official standpoint, in case it is a real movement or something. There is something about setting your mind to see the positive and dreaming the possible.

And yes. Yes, I have been called Pollyanna before. Thank you for asking.

Four-ish years ago we moved to our home in Bella Vista, Arkansas. It was a blank slate of plain beige enamel vinyl siding and a driveway with a massive cement girth that butts right up to the house. And when I say butts up, I mean literally. There is no charming front porch, dirt, or grass patch that we can pretty up. So, we put on our positive thinking cap and decided right then-and-there that our plain Jane would become a cottage.

Dream it and it will become, right?

So we hammered and painted, shingled and stained, incorporated window boxes and strategically placed potted plants. It’s still a work in progress… but we love it.

We call it “Happy Ours Cottage.”

Not quite a cottage.

But it’s ours and it makes us happy.

Recently the Arkansas Women Bloggers shared a virtual home tour of our little-cottage-that-could. You’ll find I have a pine comb “thing.” Dennis and I save them from our favorite places on earth. We love art and “things” that have a story.

It’s small. It’s cozy. And, we absolutely love our forever home.

Does your home have a name? I highly recommend giving it one… something magical happens to it when you do.

Happy touring.

Eat well, my friends. Eat well.

I learned long time ago to use what you have. Otherwise, why have it?

You know I’m all about being helpful. And healthy! I’ve also been afraid to walk down that frozen or prepared foods aisle at the store, thinking, “Nope, not for me. They’re not healthy.”

I feel good about @kevins.natural.foods because I know I can still eat well by keeping them on hand, whether for the four-o-clock pinch or meal planning.

I first tried Kevin’s Cauliflower Mac n Cheese when it was a special buy at Aldi’s. The ingredients were simple and pure, and we were delighted to discover they tasted great!

Kevin’s also has a line of delicious five-minute entrees like Peppercorn Steak, Cilantro Lime Chicken, and Roasted Garlic Chicken.

Gravy?

The correct answer is all of them! But mostly, you can’t have Thanksgiving without turkey, sweet potatoes, and veggies. It’s un-American.

This crazy-awesome pie is stuffed with an abundance of shredded turkey, sweet potatoes, corn, peas, and gravy – Ding! Ding! Ding! – You guessed correctly! It also has ooey-gooey cheese and sour cream to add a layer of comforting delight.

Link in bio for my Thanksgiving-inspired pot pie that uses three @wickspies 8″ raw circles. One for the base and two to cut lattice strips (using a ravioli cutter) so that it looks extra pretty. Of course, you could just use two raw circles. One for the base and one for the top. Just cut some slits on the top crust so that some ooey-gooey delightfulness can do its thang.
