Happy Friday!
Today’s installment of Five Foodie Finds is mixture of everyday foodie and gourmet foodie. Can you guess which items are everyday vs. gourmet? We’re focusing on fish today because fish is often the forgotten protein. It gets a bad rap (which is understandable to anyone who has ever tasted less than stellar fish).
The first two finds today are pantry stable items, rainbow trout and anchovies. Both will knock your socks off with flavor. Keep the trout on hand when you’re sitting outside one evening, engaged in lively conversation, and decide you want a little “something” to add to the conversation. The traditional-style anchovies are a must for homemade Caesar salad. A must.
A slanted fish spatula is absolutely necessary for sautéing any delicate fish on the stovetop. Finish it off with this traditional Icelandic sea salt, gleaned from the exact Icelandic location for the past 260 years.
At the end of the day, treat yourself with a bag of rainbow trout jerky. Why should beef and turkey jerky get all the attention?

Yes! Totally agree. Well, I haven’t tried the jerky, but I’m a trout lover! I heard Rachel Ray say, “If you think you don’t like anchovies…well, you’re wrong.” Totally agree with her as well.
