A few months ago I wrote an article for the Grassroots Farmers Cooperative, a farmer-owned and farmer-operated coop. Servicing Northwest and Central Arkansas, this band of farmers gathered together to share resources to satisfy a stable distribution inventory pipeline for those of us who want high-quality, sustainable, and local meats and poultry.
For this particular article I wrote for them, they provided me with a Thermapen instant-read meat thermometer.
Actually, two.
One for me… and one for you.
When I say instant-read, I mean like 2-3 seconds. No long cords or struggling to find the just-the-right-angle to attempt to read what the temperature says as the oven heat escapes. It is super easy to read from any angle and its accuracy is unmatched. Let’s just say that it is the.best.thermometer.in.the.world.
So now, let’s get to the point.

For example, I wrote about an all-around delicious and go-to recipe for a smoked turkey breast with Honey and Teriyaki Glaze and I used the Thermapen to determine when it was at the right temperature to remove from the smoker.
