Five Foodie Finds for Friday, March 14th.

Lately I’ve been thinking about starting a pepper grinder collection.  Are you into that? I found out that there are about a trillion salt and pepper shaker options out there on the interweb. Here are five to get you started.

1.

Go timeless. These timeless shakers are made of brass and have an antique silver patina finish.  Perfect for every day shaking.

2.

Go vintage. Etsy is a treasure-trove of vintage shakers spanning all periods and many times with a dash of quirky.  These vintage Fenton milk glass hobnail beauties are a bargain and a beauty.  Hurry before someone else buys it from you.

3.

Go whimsical. File this little duo under “too-cute-you’re-killing-me.”  No chance of starting a BBQ fire with this little fella.

4.

Go foodie. You’re not one to hide your salt behind any ol’ shaker, are you?  Proudly store and keep this glass salt cellar in prime view with your favorite foodie salt.  Perfect for storing Maldon salt flakes, lava salt, or Himalayan pink salt.  Go on with your foodie self.

5.

Go DIY. This cast iron pepper grinder stores your pepper corns until you are ready for grinding and then it’s simple, just invert the cast iron lid and twist-twist-twist.

If you have a foodie find that you would like to share, drop me a note.  My goal is to share these weekly foodie finds as often as possible.

Happy shaking!

Eat well, my friends. Eat well.

I like to share small ideas for living simply and eating happily.

You will find that I talk a lot about food because we all need to eat. Why not add little bits of food joy where possible?

“Just like becoming an expert in wine–you learn by drinking it, the best you can afford–you learn about great food by finding the best there is, whether simply or luxurious. Then you savor it, analyze it, and discuss it with your companions, and you compare it with other experiences.” – Julia Child
