Five foodie-finds for Friday, May 31st.

Life has been a swirl this week after coming home from the second annual #bean2blog event hosted by P. Allen Smith and The Arkansas Soybean Promotion Board.  Yes, this is the same #bean2blog event I attended last yearand raved about.

Today’s foodie finds are all things soybean.

I knew you wanted me to do that today.

Seriously, you’re welcome.

1.

Cruncha ma-me edamame snacks. These freeze-dried snacks are researched, grown, and produced right here from our own beautiful Arkansas soil along with the cooperation of the University of Arkansas and the Arkansas Soybean Promotion Board. Now’s the time to sign up so you can be notified when these are available for order so we can support our state’s efforts with a super tasty snack.

2.

Joyoung automatic hot soy milk maker. Back in my dairy-free days I would have given my right kidney for this handy kitchen tool.  Man, I think about all the money I could have saved making my own soy milk and then turning it into soy ice cream.  I hear it is good for making other nut milks like almond milk, too.

3.

What is Real Food art print. This etsy print is is 16” x 20” printed on 100% recycled card stock with soy-based inks.  I like the simple messages and their goal of getting these prints into more classrooms.

4.

Tofutti better-than-cream-cheese. I cannot say enough about this dairy-free cream cheese alternative.  While living fifteen years dairy-free, this soy-based cream cheese tasted so much like the real thing that I still buy it! You could say that it literally saved my foodie life and allowed me to add that level of creaminess to pastas, mashed potatoes and snacks that I so desperately missed.  Buy it on amazon or locally at Cooks Market, Ozark Natural Foods, and even at Allens Market in Bella Vista.

5.

Edamame magnets. Every fridge needs a magnet that makes you groan with a mixture of bad pun + cuteness. These “edamame” and “edapapa” magnets do the trick.  Yeah, I totally ordered these.

Do you have a foodie find that you would like to share?  Drop me a note at nwafoodie (at) gmail (dot) com.

Happy Friday!
