I’ve dutifully added the “jump to recipe” widget.
I don’t want you to jump.
I want you to linger.
Because I want to linger.
I want clever titles.
I want shorter, bite-sized pondering.
Learnings.
Sharing.
Thought-provoking prose.
And pretty photos.
Artwork.
I want images that capture what I FEEL.
The thinking in words is only half the story.
No one is (really) reading my blog because it turned into everyone else.
But I’m not everyone else.
I’m me.
And I’ve learned a thing or two.
And I’m still learning.
Learning to slow down.
Even more, than I ever have.
To slow down even while everything is going fast.
Which is hard.
I eat too fast.
Even when I’m slowly eating.
Too distracted.
Why is that?
Simple isn’t just about food.
It’s a mindset.
Planning.
Preparing.
Organizing.
Dreaming.
Planting.
Storing.
Design.
Joyful isn’t just about being happy.
It’s a mindset.
Details.
Senses.
Taste.
Good taste.
Uplifting.
Encouraging.
Food isn’t just about eating.
It’s about 360-degree touchpoints.
Laughter.
Joy.
Experimenting.
Sharing.
So, here’s to the new me.
Which is the old me.
I’m going back to the way this blog was before.
Way back when.
With a jump-to-recipe button when appropriate, of course.
Thank you so much for being here with me.
2009 seems so long ago.
Eat well, my friends.
Lyndi

You nailed this! And I LOVE it!!! I know just how you feel about the Jump to Recipe button, and half the time the ads pop up there too, forcing me to just print the recipe and ditch the save to Pinterest
Thanks for sharing, and being the Joyful YOU!

Thanks, Ginger! I super appreciate you! And I love that you GET IT! Hugs!

GoDaddy’s SEO tool makes it hard to just express what I want on my website. I was hung up in that labyrinth the other night until almost 2 am. I finally said, I’m going to say what I want without all of the suggested keywords!
Share your message, because it’s your message, not the website host’s (or Google’s)!
Lyndi Fultz says
Thanks, Justin! I agree with you wholeheartedly! Happy to hear that you have figured that out in the beginning. Congrats on getting the website up!

I sooo agree with you! I am not a Food Blogger, I am a pet blogger (also since 2009) and I have resisted sooo many things we are “supposed” to do. I stopped reading many food blogs due to the countless ads assaulting my eyes and other craziness that made it almost impossible to enjoy reading anything. Kudos to marching to your OWN drummer!

Hello fellow 2009 blogger! 🙂 I know that it hurts us in the “google” yet I’d rather get dinged if it means that my posts are easier to read. Kudos to YOU for marching to your own drummer, too!
