“Stop sneaking the spiced candied pecans!” I said this not once, not twice, but almost three times before Dennis beat me to say those words again. “I’m sneaking some more,” he happily declared.
This post is happily sponsored by Pure Texan Chili – championship chili mix you can add to more than chili!
I’m delighted that he was enjoying them! I assured him that he could have allllll that his little heart desired… he just had to allow me to take a few photos for you!
You see these spiced candied pecans are simple and easy go-to appetizers that we should always have the ingredients on hand. For those “just in case” moments when…
…Oh forget it! Every day is the perfect moment!
What is the difference between candied, glazed, and praline pecans?
In case you were wondering, the differences are subtle, and yet one of these three is the easy way!
Candied pecans usually have white sugar and egg whites. Glazed pecans usually have brown sugar, corn syrup, and butter. Pralines usually are pecans coated in caramel, made from brown sugar, butter, and cream.
Guess which one is the easy way? Bingo! You guessed it! Candied!
What makes these pecans easier?
One: They are candied, so the base for the pecan is one egg white and one tablespoon of water. After whisking until it becomes frothy, you coat the pecans thoroughly.
But wait! There’s one more easy reason!
Two: This isn’t any ordinary candied pecan recipe – it’s extraordinary! We’re adding spices. Not just any ordinary spice – we’re adding Pure Texan Chili Mix.
That’s right, chili mix!
Have you heard of Pure Texan Chili mix?
At the urging of friends, Alan and Susan Dean from the home in the Texas Hill Country decided to make their award-winning championship chili available to everyone by packaging and selling their Pure Texan Chili spice blend!
You can buy the Pure Texan Chili packets online – and on amazon – and what I particularly love about them is that they don’t get fancy with tons of product line extensions.
Alan and Susan stick with their chili mix because their mix is a winner.
Because they keep it simple… we can keep it simple.
Delightfully simple, the easy way!
Make some Pure Texan Candied Pecans today!
You’ll find tons of recipes created by Alan on the Pure Texan Chili website, including this recipe for Pure Texan Candied Pecans.
Along with one-teaspoon of chili mix, this recipe also calls for one-pound of raw shelled pecans, which equals three cups. I purchased mine at bulk at Sam’s Club, which comes in a two-pound bag, to which Dennis declared during his nibbling, “You need to make more with the remaining bag!”
Okay, Dennis. Okay.
I’m hearing ya. And I’m feeling ya.
Won’t you make some with me and then we can stay up all night and talk about all the things that we want to create, and make, and explore, and… well you get it. These nibbles are happy makers!
Are you ready to make these and share them with others?
Stay warm, happy, and remember to above all, have a good time.
