If you’re in the mood for wings, it better be fast and easy. More importantly, it better be delicious. And while we’re talking about… shouldn’t it be fast, easy, and delicious baked balsamic chicken wings? I vote yes!

Let’s talk delicious.

So there I was. Hunched over the kitchen trashcan, vying for space next to Dennis. Each one of us working in unison as we greedily devoured chicken wing after chicken wing. Their sticky sweet glaze was working its way under my fingernails. But I didn’t care. One down. Three down. Nine down. Before we knew it, all twenty had vanished. And all that was left was the sticky residue and the vague memory that I had other plans for those wings.

Let’s talk easy.

Now I was going to have to come up with another snack food plan for my upcoming party. And then I remember, it is sooooooo easy to make chicken wings in the oven and wings are very inexpensive to purchase. So here’s a helpful tip: double this recipe because you’re going to want to keep half of it to yourself.

The funny thing about this story is that I really don’t care that much for chicken wings. Scratch that. I don’t care much for ordering chicken wings in a restaurant so I always figured, “why would I make them at home?”

  • Reason #1: They’re easy to prep.
  • Reason #2: Baking is a snap.
  • Reason #3: Clean-up is a snap.
  • Reason #4: They’re inexpensive.
  • Reason #5: A balsamic glaze is healthy and addictive.

Let’s talk balsamic glaze, shall we?

I happily created this super satisfying recipe for De Nigris Italian spicy balsamic glazed chicken wings. No sugar. Pure Italian vinegar cooked down to perfection. All we have to do is coat and bake. Oh, and did I mention there is a touch of spiciness?

Curious… are a chicken-wings-at-home or a chicken-wings-at-restaurant kind?

Happy winging-it.

Eat well, my friends. Eat well.

In pursuit of small joys that add simplicity to life. + @nwafoodie

There is something quite glorious about simplicity There is something quite glorious about simplicity. I'm really feeling it as Dennis and I sit here in our living room, next to the crackling fire. Full disclosure, this picture isn't me BUT I do have the exact same coffee cup. Anyoo, I'm reminded how wonderful it is to be still. Not that I ever forget that reminder, it's just easier to revel in it, next to a fire. With snow softing falling outside. You know what I mean?
My coffee routine is alllll over the place! Firs My coffee routine is alllll over the place!

First, it was a percolator.
Then came the Breville coffee maker.
Next, along came a bodum pour over.
Quickly replaced by a French Press.
Then came an Aeropress.
Followed by a rediscovery of a favorite instant brand we enjoyed in Isreal.
Now, Aeropress is making a comeback.
And our beloved LaVazza espresso.
Which tastes like vacation at the Sonnelap in Vail.

Am I the only one who does coffee in phases?

What's next?

Probably need an espresso maker!

Record player turntable = slow, easy, chill

Both have their places. But man, oh man, I am finding myself craving more of the latter: slow, easy, chill.

Now, to get a record player...

“Just like becoming an expert in wine–you learn by drinking it, the best you can afford–you learn about great food by finding the best there is, whether simply or luxurious. Then you savor it, analyze it, and discuss it with your companions, and you compare it with other experiences.” – Julia Child
