beef

The best beef bacon in the world.

June 30, 2010 8 Comments

(UPDATE)  Richards Meat Market no longer sells this bacon.

You might think I am exaggerating.  Perhaps I am because I really haven’t tried every beef bacon brand in the entire world.  Perhaps because you think that “beef” and “bacon” shouldn’t be in the same sentence.
Hear me out.
Herman’s Swiss Meat Hickory Smoked Beef Bacon is in-cred-i-ble!
I found this little jewel of a package while conducting my Friday afternoon retail safari in Fayetteville last week at Richard’s Country Meat Market off of College Avenue on Market Street.  This is the same bundle of shops where Tuesday Morning, Office Depot, Hobby Lobby, and Blockbuster is located.
And there it was, sitting in the vegetable and butter section.  Real beef bacon.  Expensive?  Heck, ya.  Not very many pieces of bacon?  Yep, that’s right.  A perfect blend of smoky meat, crispiness, and incredible during and after mouth tasting experience and completely worth every penny?
Yes! Yes! Yes!
Try it for yourself and see if it just isn’t the best beef bacon in the world!
Richard’s Country Meat Market is open Monday-Saturday from 9am-6pm.  If you’re not living in Northwest Arkansas (well, why not?), check out Herman’s Swiss Meat’s website to see if they ship to or sell in your neck of the woods.

I found some delicious beef bacon in Walmart next to Fayetteville mall. Glad to know that Richard's carries it also. Will get some more for the freezer.

Is it the same kind? I definitely will go check it out when I'm in Fayetteville tomorrow, thanks!

But super sad news… I went to Richard's and they stopped carrying this brand of beef bacon. Now they have zero beef bacon. sigh. Thanks for letting me (all of us!) know about the Walmart one!

It was not the same packaging–don't think it had a brand name. I'll check for it tomorrow afternoon, too.

Spoke to a meat department person in the NW Fayetteville Walmart. She checked with a 10-year employee who said that beef bacon is a seasonal thing (Christmas? Winter?) and the season is over. Sorry. I'm trying to check ordering by mail with a reasonable price.

Bummer! I went there yesterday and couldn't find it either. I was going to ask you if you meant the turkey bacon… which by the way Oscar Meyer's is way better than Jennie-O. I don't know how Jennie-O stays in distribution because it is not good at all.

Thanks for checking with the meat dept manager. Let me know what you find out, okay? Thanks Bobbie!

ad Brrrrrr. Okay, quick question… what do you ea ad Brrrrrr. Okay, quick question… what do you eat when it’s freezing outside and all you want to do is to stay in your jammies and watch TV?

And now ask yourself… what do you reallllly want to eat that is quick to make, delicious, and suuuuuuuper easy to prepare?

Ding! Ding! Ding! The correct answer is chili!

This is not just any ol’ ordinary chili – this is @puretexanchili Championship Chili. This is chili that has won not one, not two, not ten… ya’ll seriously, this chili has WON EIGHTEEN STATE CHILI CHAMPIONSHIPS!!!

This is the quick, delicious, and super easy kind of chili that everybody wants on a freezing cold day when all you want to do is stay in your jammies and watch TV!

The Big Game Day is less than two weeks away - plenty of time to order this chili mix (by February 1st).

Ad. Stop sneaking the spiced candied pecans!” I Ad. Stop sneaking the spiced candied pecans!” I said this not once, not twice, but almost three times before Dennis beat me to it those words all over again. “I’m sneaking some more,” he happily declared.

I’m delighted that he was enjoying them! I assured him that he could have allllll that his little heart desired… he just had to allow me to take a few photos for you!

You see these spiced candied pecans are simple and easy go-to appetizers that we should always have the ingredients on hand. For those “just in case” moments when…

…Oh forget it! Every day is the perfect moment!

This isn’t any ordinary candied pecan recipe – it’s extraordinary! We’re adding spices.

Not just any ordinary spice – we’re adding @puretexanchili mix.

That’s right, chili mix!

ad. Probably the most stressful thing about chili ad. Probably the most stressful thing about chili is wondering if all the time and energy you spent on those spices and ingredients… will actually turn out.

The last thing you want after all that effort is a wasted pot of chili. Ugh!

Think about all the times that you’ve been to someone’s home, watching the game, lounging around, playing cards, or binge-watching Netflix.

Was chili involved?

If it wasn’t, it should’ve been! Chili is fun food!

Have you heard of @puretexanchili?

At the urging of friends, Alan and Susan Dean decided to make their award-winning championship chili available to everyone by packaging and selling their Pure Texan Chili spice blend!

They sell their Pure Texan Chili packets online (and on amazon) and what I particularly love about them is that they don’t get fancy with tons of product line extensions.

Alan and Susan stick with their chili mix because their mix is a winner.

Because they keep it simple… we can keep it simple.

You’ll find tons of recipes created by Alan on their website. Since it’s fall and the cool weather is here to stay for a while, I decided to check out their Veggie Chili recipe.

The ingredients for this veggie chili recipe are simple and healthy. We’re talking sweet potatoes, cauliflower, squash, black beans, tomato sauce, water, and yep, you guessed it! One packet of Pure Texan Chili mix.

Deeeeeelish!
