Twitter was the first social platform that I whole-heartedly embraced. I loved that you could instantly find people based on location, interests and key words. It opened up a world of opportunity. I still remember the day when I was tweeting, asking for recommendations about places to eat in NYC for an upcoming trip. Suggestions came pouring in from strangers all over the internet. One lady, in particular, was extremely helpful and we talked back and forth quite a bit. I realized exactly who she was when I arrived in The Big Apple and saw a window display at Bergdorf Goodman’s that featured her likeness (along with other Manhattan food experts like Martha Stewart). Her name? Ohhhhh, just Melissa Clark… the food writer, cookbook author and staff reporter for the New York Times Food section.

Pretty cool, huh?

Instagram is a little bit different than Twitter. Instagram is all about the visual story, the aesthetics and inspiration. Click on a profile and you will instantly get a feel of what that profile is about and what they aspire to be/inspire you to want to be. I love following a cornucopia of Instagrammers from food bloggers, home décor geniuses, everyday people just sharing life and Hashtags that interest me.

How about you? Are you on Instagram?

I have two Instagram profiles. The first one is NWAFOODIE. My local food focused on local foodies who want to be in-the-foodie-know. Basically, all things food-related in Arkansas and Northwest Arkansas. I like to share local finds at grocery stores, restaurants and all the interesting touchpoints when it comes to foods, drinks and discoveries. If you’re interested, follow my NWAFOODIE Instagram and let me know yours!

My second Instagram profile is THEJOYOFEATINGWELL. This is a brand new Instagram for me, allowing me to cast a wider storytelling net. It’s focused on health-conscious foodies caught up in the busyness of life. Instagram is allowing me to micro-blog about short topics focused on small, simple suggestions to help find more joy in eating well. If you’re interested, follow my THEJOYOFEATINGWELL Instagram and let me knows yours!

What are some of your favorite Instagrammers that you follow that you think I would be interested in? What makes them stand out to you?

Happy ‘gramming!
