Disclosure: For the next year, I am serving as an ambassador for the Arkansas Soybean Promotion Board by highlighting stories surrounding Arkansas’s largest row crop – soybeans! #themiraclebean #ARSoyStory #ARSoySupper

Hello friends. I hope your Thanksgiving was filled with happiness and joy. Most of us are back in the swing of things with our daily routines, school schedules and perhaps adding a few extra pushups to counteract the past few days of consuming dessert leftovers. Worth it! Isn’t Thanksgiving delicious?

Speaking of delicious, are you familiar with the Kitchen|Fields Table Tour going on this month? The tour was launched by the Arkansas Soybean Promotion Board to celebrate Arkansas Soybean Month and support Arkansas soybean producers throughout the month of November. If you’re in the Northwest Arkansas area, The Hive in Bentonville is representing our region for the tour and they are highlighting two soybean items on their menu.

As I was running around gathering foodstuffs for Thanksgiving last week, I decided to pop into the Hive late one afternoon around three o’clock. You know that time of day when you are so busy you’ve missed the lunch window but you’re too early for dinner? Yep, it was that time of day. Luckily, I knew the lounge area would be open with nibbles and drinks to satisfy that mid-day hunger.

Knowing that The Hive is part of the Kitchen|Fields Table Tour, I was hoping that at least one of their featured soybean dishes were on the appetizer list… it was! Not one, but two menu items. Score!

I ordered a pot of green tea along with the Arkansas Trail mix and Soybean Hummus and decided to kick back with a magazine and enjoyed some me-time. You know, eating out doesn’t always have to be a complicated, over-organized, or an expensive ordeal. Why not meet up with your bestie in the middle of the day at three o-clock and dine on nibbles in the lounge area? The combination of both the soybean hummus and the Arkansas trail mix filled me up physically… and the relaxing atmosphere filled me up mentally.

Arkansas Trail Mix $4

Pecans, soybeans, black walnuts and cheddar straws

Soybean Hummus $7

Carrot and mint

House Made Ricotta Cavatelli $12

Shiitake, soybeans and roasted butternut squash. (This dish is on the lunch menu.)

The Hive is just one of the participating restaurants featured in the Kitchen|Fields Table Tour this month. If you or your loved ones are traveling the state, check out the other restaurants included in the tour.

Happy touring.

Eat well, my friends. Eat well.
